My father, James D. Morgan Jr., was the drum major for the B-1 Band. It was so enlightening to hear Mr. White speak about how my mother, who worked in the dining hall at N.C. A&T State University, would always check to see what he had on his tray to eat each time he came through the check out line where she was stationed.He told me she wanted to make sure he was making good, healthy food choices. I had never heard something so interesting about my mother’s time at A&T. Meeting him was a double “treat”. He not only knew my Daddy well, but also, my mother. I am so sorry to hear of his passing. I will always remember meeting his daughters on the dinner cruise on the Potomac River in D.C., during a B-1 Band reunion. I treasure this Jewitt White and daughters encounter.
