I spent a large part of this evening looking over logo designs for a group I play with, the Washington Cornett and Sackbutt Ensemble. I think the design will be great, by the way. Design is pretty important, because it can convey a lot of information with a minimum of space or even complexity. 

Milton Glaser, a famous graphic designer, said, “There are three responses to a piece of design – yes, no, and WOW! Wow is the one to aim for.”
