More on Tom Hooten’s single tongue chart

Yesterday, I shared Tom Hooten’s wonderful single tongue practice video. I included a screen shot of his chart that he displayed in the video, but I wasn’t thrilled about that chart, so I made a new one in Finale and exported it as a graphic file. Here’s an image in JPEG format:

I can also share an opinion after working with this method a little while. My single tongue is slow, so I take all of the metronome speeds much slower. This is so that I can maintain a smooth, legato approach. Let the maximum speed be only as fast as you can maintain a legato approach.
