New post category for Trumpet Journey: Quotes

I thought I would introduce a new kind of post for August. I will be sharing thought-provoking quotes that are of general, musical and trumpet interest–one of each per post during this month (and occasionally afterwards). They may be centered around a theme (or maybe not). These will be simple posts, but I think it will be a nice “vacation” from the pedagogical ones. If you like the quotes, please feel free to comment–especially with a quote of your own.

Quote Post #1

“Tell me and I forget. Teach me and I remember. Involve me and I learn.” –Benjamin Franklin

“I would teach children music, physics, and philosophy; but most importantly music, for the patterns in music and all the arts are the keys to learning.”
― Plato

After I learned the piano, I went on to learn percussion, the tuba, b-flat baritone, French horn, trombone, trumpet, most of the instruments in the orchestra. Trumpet was my instrument. –– Quincy Jones
