John Cowell, Canadian trumpeter and composer, member of the Royal Canadian Navy Band, recipient of lip-injury in 1945, composer of more than 200 tunes recorded by major artists, some reaching the top of pop charts, member of the Toronto Symphony Orchestra from 1952 to 1991 (after eight-year recovery), recipient of Lifetime Achievement Award from the Toronto Musicians’ Association in 2005, born in Tillsonburg, Ontario, Canada.
