Philip Jones, acclaimed British trumpeter, principal in the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, leader of the Philip Jones Brass Ensemble, teacher at the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester, the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, director of Trinity College of Music, one of England’s most highly regarded musicians, recipient of the Order of the British Empire and Commander of the Order of the British Empire, recipient of the Composers’ Guild Award and the Cesare Bendinelli Award, died in London, England.
