Ferdinand Weinschenk, German trumpeter, student of Ernst Sachse, soloist in opera Der Trumpeter von Säckingen hundreds of times, principal trumpet in the Gewandhausorchester Leipzig (1861-99), one of the first to perform Bach’s Mass in B Minor on D trumpet, teacher of Eduard Seifert (later principal of Dresden), dedicatee of Oskar Böhme’s Trumpet Concerto in E Minor, died in Leipzig, Germany.
