Clarke-sponsored National Cornet Solo Contest, Solo Cornet with the U.S. Marine Band in Washington during WWII, principal with the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra and then the Los Angeles Philharmonic, teacher of Thomas Stevens, Mario Guarneri and Ronald Romm, founder of the Los Angeles Brass Society, recording engineer and producer died in Los Angeles, California.
