Walter Holy, German trumpeter, played in orchestras of Herford, Bielefeld, West German Radio in Cologne and Frankfurt, principal in Hanover Opera, prof at the Staatliche Folkwang Hochschule in Essen, principal in the Cologne Baroque Orch. (1960-83), one of the earliest in modern times to perform on the (valveless) baroque trumpet (on a round Jägertrompete), recorded the Brandenburg 2 in 1964 on such an instrument, died in Cologne, Germany.
