Keith Smith, British trumpeter, bandleader and impresario, started playing at age 17, focused on early jazz style, formed his on Climax Jazz Band, toured the U.S. and Canada, moved to New Orleans, then to Denmark, then back to London, founding the Hefty Jazz Band, led the Wonderful World of Louis Armstrong, born in Isleworth, England.
