This Day in History: 1967-03-21

Randy Brooks, American trumpeter, played with Claude Thornhill (1942), formed band that performed at the Roseland Ballroom in NYC, partially paralyzed from one stroke in 1950 and another in 1958, retired in 1961, died in Springdale, Maine, in a fire at his mother’s apartment at the age of 49.
