Marie Speziale, American trumpeter, studied with Robert Price, Vincent Bach and Rafael Méndez, coached by Frank Simon, while a college student began playing with the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra, assistant principal in 1964, associate principal (1976-96), teacher at CCM (1966-72), teacher at Miami Univ. of Ohio (1973-79), taught at Rice University, full professor at Indiana Univ. while teaching at CCM, played with jazz quartet and once jammed with Duke Ellington, hosted the International Women’s Brass conference in 2000 and served as president, born in Brooklyn, New York.
