Hugh Ragin, American trumpeter and composer, studied at University of Houston and then received a master of music degree from Colorado State University, a versatile, post-bob avant-garde musician who has played with symphony orchestras, Sun Ra, Dizzy Gillespie, Maynard Ferguson, Anthony Braxton, played in the Park Hill Brass Quintet in Denver, lecturer in jazz studies at the University of Colorado, born in Honolulu, Hawaii.
