James Ketch, American trumpeter, began teaching career at Southern Utah State College, then Univ. of North Carolina, faculty on the Jamey Aebersold Summer Jazz Workshops, artist at the Savannah Music Festival’s “Swing Central Jazz,” has performed with many pop and jazz stars, recipient of the Reynold Schilke Outstanding Soloist Award at NABBA, the Tanner Award for Outstanding Undergraduate Teaching and Bowman and Gordon Grad Professorship for Outstanding Teaching, born in Evanston, Illinois.
