Alphonse Goeyens, renowned Belgian trumpeter, second (after Charlier) to play Bach’s Brandenburg Concerto No. 2 in modern times, professor of trumpet at the royal conservatory of Brussels, editor of the first edition of the Haydn Trumpet Concerto in E-flat in modern times, first to require his (advanced) students to play the piccolo trumpet, died in Molenbeek-St. Jean, Belgium.
