Bernard Adelstein, renowned American orchestral trumpeter, second trumpet in the Ballet Russe de Monte Carlo orchestra at age 15 and 2nd in Pittsburgh at age 16 (working with Irving Sarin), principal of Dallas Symphony Orchestra in 1948, principal of Minneapolis Symphony in 1950, principal of the Cleveland Orchestra (1960-1988), taught at the Cleveland Institute of Music (1963-88), then Indiana University (1988-94), born in Cleveland, Ohio.
