Horst Jackel, German jazz trumpeter, joined the Helmut Brandt combo (1955) and played with his band in Cologne, member of Erwin Lehn’s group in Stuttgart (1961-64), worked with many leading German jazz groups, including Heinz Schönberger’s Main Street Power Band and with the dance band of the Hessian Radio, had to stop playing trumpet due to cancer (his jaw was removed), made a Knight of Ronneburg in 2006, died in Bad Nauheim, Germany.
