David Mason, British trumpeter, played in the National Symphony Orchestra as teenager, then served in the Scots Guards band during WWII, afterwards playing in the Royal Opera House orchestra, then Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, then with the Philharmonia, played piccolo trumpet on Penny Lane for The Beatles on January 17, 1967 after Paul McCartney heard him play the Brandenburg Concerto No. 2, taught at the Royal College of Music in London, died London, England.
