Alfred Weldon, American cornetist, played with the Columbia Theatre in Chicago, took the Chicago Commandery Band to the St. Louis Conclave in 1888, bandmaster of the Second Regiment Band of Chicago in 1890s, conducted the First Brigade Band of Chicago, wrote many cornet solos with band accompaniment, started the Weldon’s Correspondence Course for Cornet, published his Weldon Method for brass, taught many students, sold his residence and school to H.A. VanderCook, retired, died in Chicago, Illinois.
