Ryan Anthony, American trumpeter, won the General Motors National Concerto Competition sponsored by Seventeen Magazine that led to solo appearances with the Cleveland Orchestra, Detroit Symphony Orchestra and the Kennedy Center in Washington, DC, member of the Center City Brass Quintet and the Burning River Brass, played with the Brass Band of Battle Creek and the duo Anthony & Beard (tpt and organ), taught at Oberlin (1998-2000), North Carolina School of the Arts (2004-5), member of the Canadian Brass (2000-3), principal of the Dallas Symphony Orchestra (2006-20), born in Whittier, California.
