Betty O’Hara, American trumpeter and singer, member of the Hartford Symphony Orchestra when young, became L.A. studio musician, toured with Billy Vaughan’s orchestra in the 1970s and was a founding member of Ann Patterson’s all-female big band (Maiden Voyage), active as jazz trumpeter until two strokes ended career in 1998, born in Morris, Illinois.
