Thomas Ladnier, American jazz trumpeter, played with Charlie Creath (1921), Milton Vasser (1921), Ollie Powers (1923), recorded with many artists, played with Lovie Austin’s Blue Serenaders (1924-5), toured Europe twice with Sam Woodling’s Chocolate Kiddies, played in Fletcher Henderson’s big band (1926-7), formed his own band in France (1930), formed the New Orleans Feetwarmers, drank heavily in his 30s and had spotty success, born in Florenceville, Louisiana.
