Don Johnson, American trumpeter, toured with bands of Charlie Spivak, Art Mooney, and Judy Garland, principal of the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra, went to Curtis Institute and then gained BM-ed degree at Univ. of N.C.-Greensboro, principal trumpet of the West Australian Symphony Orchestra (1968-78), trumpet instructor at Canberra School of Music and jazz instructor (1978-98), principal of the Canberra Symphony Orchestra, band director at Radford College, instructor at the Australia Capital Territory Dept. of Education, died in Jerrabomberra, New South Wales, Australia.
