Ted Curson, American jazz trumpeter, worked with Ray Bryant, Philly Joe Jones, Red Garland and the Charles Mingus Quartet (1959-62), co-led a band (1962-6), performed with Max Roach and Archie Shepp, lived for a decade in Denmark, hosted jam sessions at the Blue Note, played in France and Finland, born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
