This Day in History: 1997-06-16

Rolf Ericson, Swedish jazz trumpeter, immigrated to the U.S. and played with Charlie Barnet’s Bebop Orchestra in NYC, played with Woody Herman’s Third Herd, went back and forth between America and Europe and toured with Charlie Parker, led his own groups, played with many great jazz artists and became a studio musician in Germany, died in Stockholm, Sweden.
