Dewey Jackson, American trumpeter, played with Tommy Evans’ group, George Reynold’s Keystone Band, Charlie Creath, Golden Melody Band, formed his own band and eventually named it the New Orleans Cotton Pickers, co-led a band with Marable and Creath, leading jazz player in St. Louis in the 1920s and 30s, born in St. Louis, Missouri.
