Pete Olstad, American trumpeter, named “Best Jazz Soloist” by Downbeat magazine three years in a row, soloist and lead trumpet in bands of Maynard Ferguson, Woody Herman, Glenn Miller, Tommy Dorsey, Mel Tormé, Buddy Rich and Steve Allen, played with Blood Sweat & Tears, toured for nine years with Tom Jones, trad jazz player in New Orleans, born in Burbank, California.
