Tom Crown, American trumpeter and manufacturer, studied with Reynold Schilke, played in the Civic Orchestra of Chicago (studying with Herseth and Jacobs), played in the Grant Park Orchestra, toured with the Boston Pops, served in the 7th Army Symphony Orchestra, joined the Chicago Lyric Opera Orchestra (1962-92), taught at Roosevelt University, founded Tom Crown Mutes in 1969, born in Chicago, Illinois.
