Del Staigers, renowned American cornetist, played professionally with the NHDVS Band in Dayton, Ohio, at age 13, hired by John Philip Sousa to be Frank Simon’s assistant, first trumpet at the New York Hippodrome and Strand Theatre, first trumpet for the Okeh Phonograph Company, featured soloist with Edwin Franko Goldman, played Taps for Sousa in 1932, member of the all-star cornet trio (with Frank Simon and Walter M. Smith) at the 1934 ABA convention, Hollywood studio musician, died in North Hollywood, California.
