Carmell Jones, American jazz trumpeter, played with Shelly Manne, Gerald Wilson, Bud Shank, Curtis Ay, Herbie Mann, Red Mitchell, released a solo album, played with Booker Ervin in NYC, as well as Joe Henderson and Horace Silver, became a trumpeter and arranger for Radio Free Berlin Big Band, established his own studio in West Berlin, came back to U.S. and eventually joined the Ray Charles Orchestra, born in Kansas City, Kansas.
