Henry Distin, English cornetist and maker, second of four sons born to English maker, John Henry Distin, member of the Distin and Sons Quintet (toured for 22 years, performing more than 10,000 concerts in Europe and the United States), took over his father’s company in 1849, sold company to Boosey & Company, moved to NYC and opened The Henry Distin Company, born in London, England.
