Vincent DiMartino, American trumpeter, known for wide-ranging and high-level versatility, taught at the University of Kentucky (trumpet and jazz ensembles), then Distinguished Artist-in-Residence at Centre College in Danville, Kentucky, member of many jazz bands (Lionel Hampton, Chuck Mangione, and Clark Terry, performed in numerous brass conferences, chair of board of directors and president of the ITG, host of the 1982 ITG Conference, 2004 CASE Professor of the Year for the State of Kentucky, awarded the ITG Award of Merit for lifetime achievement in 2003, born in Amityville, Long Island, New York.
