Thomas Stevens, American trumpeter and composer, studied with James Stamp and William Vacchiano, principal in the West Point band, second trumpet in the Dallas Symphony Orchestra (assistant principal later), associate principal (and later principal) in the Los Angeles Philharmonic, studio musician on more than 50 films and numerous tv series, founding member of the Los Angeles Brass Quintet, champion of contemporary trumpet music, composer of many works and etudes for trumpet, noted clinician, born in Atascadero, California.
