Iskander Akhmadullin, Russian trumpeter, studied with Vadim Novikov at the Moscow State Conservatory before immigrating to the U.S., where he studied at the Univ. of North Texas (the first Russian brass player earning a doctor of music in the U.S.), played in the Moscow Radio Orchestra, soloed throughout Europe and the U.S., taught at the Moscow State Conservatory, Univ. of N. Texas, Southwestern Oklahoma St. Univ., currently prof at the Univ. of Missouri in Columbia, coprincipal of the Missouri Symphony Orchestra, born in Kazan, Republic of Tatarstan, Russia.
