Louis Schreiber, German cornetist, teacher at the Cologne Conservatory, immigrant to America (1854), member of the New York Philharmonic Society (1856-1865), principal trumpet in the Brooklyn Philharmonic Society and Theodore Thomas Orchestra, famed cornet soloist, instrument manufacturer (noted for cornets with circular bells that pointed upwards called “rain catchers”), died in Los Angeles, California.
