Mark Curry, American jazz trumpeter and mouthpiece maker, joined Woody Herman’s band as lead (1982), lead with Ray Charles’ orchestra, moved to Reno, Nevada to work as freelance lead player in several casino bands, began making valve caps and mouthpiece sound sleeves in 1989, began making mouthpieces in the 1990s, founded company, Curry Precision Mouthpieces, born in South Bend, Indiana.
