Clyde Hurley, American jazz trumpeter, joined Ben Pollack’s band in 1938, switched over to Glenn Miller’s band, recording some important solos (e.g., “In the Mood”), joined Tommy Dorsey and then Artie Shaw, then became studio musician in L.A. with the MGM orchestra, the NBC orch, born in Ft. Worth, Texas.
