Anton Weidinger, Austrian trumpeter, released from his apprenticeship with Peter Neuhold early for quick learning, field trumpeter in Prince Adam Czartorisky’s cuirassier regiment (1785-87), trumpeter with the dragoon regiment of Archduke Joseph of Tuscany (1787-92), trumpeter of the Royal Imperial Theatre in Vienna (1792-6), court trumpeter (1799-1819), performed Haydn’s concerto at the Imperial Royal Court of the Esterhazy family, married Susanna Zeiss (daughter of another court trumpeter) in 1797 (with Haydn as witness), died in Vienna, Austria.
