Harry (“Sweets”) Edison, American jazz trumpeter, played with several local groups before moving to NYC, playing with Lucky Millinder, Mills Blue rhythm Band and the Count Basie Orchestra (1949 to 50), also played with Machete, Josephine Baker, Jimmy Rushing and Buddy Rich as well as leading his own combos, played with Eddie “Lockjaw” Davis from the 1960s to the 80s, known for minimalistic jazz solos and a large, round tone, born in Columbus, Ohio.
