Louis Kloepfel, German trumpeter, principal in Leipzig Symph Orch, played with the Johann Strauss Orch, immigrated to U.S. in 1889, becoming principal in the New York Symphony Orch, soloist with Anton Seidl’s resort orch on Brighton Beach, principal with the BSO (1898-1914), then section player (1914-1927), taught Vacchiano, Walter Smith and Charles Colin, died in Needham, Massachusetts.
