This Day in History: 1968-10-11
Russell Gray, Scottish cornetist and conductor, won several competitions while teenager, at 12 was principal cornet of the Clydebank Burgh Band, played in the Black Dyke Brass Band, toured internationally as cornet soloist, founding member of the Quintessence Brass Ensemble, has been conductor of many brass bands, taught at the Northern College of Music in Manchester, born in Clydebank, Scotland.
