Roy Hargrove, American trumpeter, one of the most important jazz musicians from the 1980s to 2010s, played European tour with Frank Morgan while in high school, after high school played with several bands professionally, attended Berklee College of Music, then transferred to NYC’s New School to play club dates more frequently, played Carnegie Hall in 1994, commissioned for The Love Suite: In Mahogany (1993) by the Lincoln Center Jazz Orch, played with countless famous jazz musicians, led his own successful big band and a quintet called RH Factor, recorded many albums, won two Grammys, born in Waco, Texas.
