This Day in History: 1911-10-23

Daryl Gibson, American trumpeter, taught at Univ of Minnesota and played with Minneapolis Symph Orch (1934-44), served as Naval Officer in WWII, taught at Univ of Montana and then chair of music dept at Gustavus Adolphus College, suffered from paralytic polio in 1954 but recovered enough to teach at McPhai School of Music and Hamline Univ, born in Sheldon, Iowa.
