This Day in History: 1905-10-25

Reuben (“Red”) Reeves, American jazz trumpeter, moved to NYC then to Chicago, worked with Erskine Tate’s orch, member of Dave Peyton’s band, formed band that played at the Royal Theatre, sideman of the Missourians, Jerome Carrington’s band, and Cab Calloway’s orch, served in the 369th Infantry Band in WWII, played with Harry Dial’s Bluesicians, born in Evansville, Indiana.
