Helmut Wobisch, Austrian trumpeter, member of the Vienna Brass Choir, principal in the Vienna Philharmonic, member of the Nazi SS during WWII, released from the many groups because of these connections, reinstated in 1951 in the Volksoper and was coprincipal in the Vienna Philharmonic, became friendly and supportive of Leonard Bernstein, a pioneer of the baroque revival for the trumpet, born in Vienna, Austria.
