Cal Massey, American trumpeter, composer and arranger, played with the big bands of Jay McShann, Jimmy Heath and Billie Holiday, director of the ROMAS Big Band, compositions often performed by jazz greats, died of heart attack at 44 in Brooklyn, New York.
