Jack Mackintosh, British cornetist, known as the “Cornet King,” played in a silent film band at age 15, joined the Hetton Colliery Band at the Crystal Palace in 1912, then St. Hilda’s Band, solo cornet with the Harton Colliery Band (1919-30), played with the BBC Symph Orch, (1930-52), taught at the Royal Military School of Music, died in Epsom, England.
