Julius Kosleck, German cornetist and trumpeter, joined the 2nd Infantry Foot Guards’ Regiment Band (1853-1893), first trumpet of the Königliche Kapelle in Berlin, important cornet soloist throughout Europe, formed the Kaiser-Cornet-Quartett (which performed at the 1872 World’s Peace Jubilee in the U.S.), developed a 2-valved straight trumpet in low A to play Bach trumpet parts, taught at the Berlin Conservatory, published method for cornet and trumpet, taught Max Schlossberg and Paris Chambers, formed Kosleck’s Brass Band, died in Berlin, Germany.
