Richard Williams, American jazz trumpeter, played with Lionel Hampton’s band, Charles Mingus (1959-64), Gigi Gryce (1959-62) and many others, member of the Thad Jones-Mel Lewis Orchestra (1966-70), played in Broadway musicals in the late 1970s and early 1980s, died in Jamaica, New York.
