This Day in History: 1924-11-06

Dick Cathcart, American jazz trumpeter, played in the Army Air Force Radio Orch during WWII, after his service, played with Bob Crosby’s band, the MGM studio orch, Ben Pollack and Ray Noble’s band, composed and performed on Pete Kelly’s Blues, started his own Dixieland band, member of the Lawrence Welk Band, born in Michigan City, Indiana.
